Note: If you are installing or upgrading to v23.4 or later, the default admin user (system administrator) can perform all functions the former supervisor user previously performed, and provide authentication for embedded use cases.
admin User
The supplied admin user is defined as a system administrator for the supplied tenant. The admin user cannot be deleted. The first time you log into the Symphony UI as the admin user, you may be prompted to change the admin user password. Thereafter, you can change the password for the admin user only if you are logged into the UI as an administrator. Other users can be defined as administrators or can be assigned to groups with some or all administrator privileges. SeeAdd New Users, and Symphony User Groups.Administrators Group
Administrators group members include the default admin user, who is a system administrator associated with the Visual Data Discovery (Global User in Managed Dashboards) tenant. Assign users to the Administrators group to give them administrative privileges to perform actions such as:- Create and manage users, system admins, and groups.
- Create and manage tenants.
- Manage connectors, licenses, and actions.
- Enable security privileges, and more.
Note: The Administrators group is an integral part of Symphony management. Global Users can be system administrators. Tenants also have Administrators group: tenant admins are members of that group for one or more tenants.
Find Admins in Symphony
- System admins are listed with an Admin tag in the Name column on the main Users landing page.
- Only Global Users can be system admins, and show a Global User tag in the Tenants column.
- Search for all admins, including tenant admins, by entering Admin in the search box.

Administrators Group (Tenant Admins)
Administrators group members in tenants can:- Create and manage users, groups, and content in their tenants.
- Define custom charts in their tenants.
- Perform Console and Actions related tasks.
