Manage User Groups in Visual Data Discovery

Create and update groups in the Groups work area.

Use groups to assign privileges to groups of users in data discovery. Groups are most useful when a number of users require the same access restrictions. Users can be assigned to multiple groups.

Note:
SAML and LDAP groups that are automatically created in Symphony must be manually assigned privileges.

The main advanced task you can complete in data discovery instead of the Symphony Groups work area is assigning specific group privileges to your groups.

• System Administrators: Edit and update group privileges for groups you’ve created for Global Users. This does not include system-created groups, such as the administrators group.
• Tenant Administrators: Edit and update group privileges for groups created for your tenants. This does not include system-created groups, such as the administrators group.
