## Beta Features in This Release

This release of Symphony may contain some features and enhancements in a beta test state so you can try them out in a non-production environment. Assess how they work in your environment, or provide feedback to insightsoftware as part of a formal beta testing process.

This includes conditional formatting, data formatting and aggregation support. Select Data (XLSX) as an option when you export a report.  </p></li><li><p>Group Structured reports have been enhanced to support data formatting at the visual level in addition to current support at the source level.</p></li><li><p>You can now elect to disable Self Service Reports at install time by making the appropriate changes to your YAML file. See the helm chart for more information.</p></li><li><p><span class="mc-variable Logi_Variables.SymProductName variable">Symphony</span> now supports the installation of custom and non-standard Python packages using the helm chart.</p></li><li><p>You can now add formulas to data cubes to reuse them across multiple metric sets and calculate their results after aggregation. See Process Result.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Clickable parts of visualizations are now indicated on mouse hover in edit mode for easier access to their settings in the [Properties window](/logi-symphony/symphony/v25/available_visual_types/design_overview#properties).</p></li><li><p>Access more regions of [table visualizations visually](/logi-symphony/symphony/v25/available_visual_types/using_a_table_visualization#table-visualizations-visually) using new icons you can hover over and then click to access their property settings.</p></li><li><p>Optionally add the current date to the beginning of export file names rather than the end and customize the date and time format.            </p></li></ul></td></tr><tr data-mc-conditions="Logi_Conditions.b-SymphonyOnly"><td><p>[Installation Updates](/logi-symphony/symphony/v25/release_notes/symphony_25.2_enhancements#installation-updates)</p></td><td><p>When you configure Java Virtual Machine (JVM) options for your Visual <span class="mc-variable Logi_Variables.SymDataDiscovery variable">Data Discovery</span> connectors, do not use the `additionalJavaOpts` section in the Helm chart, as it sets the `_JAVA_OPTIONS` environment variable. This global variable is not reliably visible or predictable across environments. </p><p>For more information, see [Data Discovery Service Values](/logi-symphony/symphony/v25/install/install_symphony_-_kubernetes#data-discovery-service-values).</p></td></tr><tr data-mc-conditions="Logi_Conditions.b-SymphonyOnly"><td><p>[Account Lockout Messaging](/logi-symphony/symphony/v25/release_notes/symphony_25.2_enhancements#account-lockout-messaging)</p></td><td><p>A new configuration setting, <b>Account Locked Logon Failure Reason</b>, is now available in new and upgraded <span class="mc-variable Logi_Variables.SymProductName variable">Symphony</span> environments. </p><p>The default setting of <b>Unrecognized Credentials</b> is applied to new installations of <span class="mc-variable Logi_Variables.SymProductName variable">Symphony</span>. Locked out accounts see a message that the credentials were not recognized without exposing the existence of the actual account.</p><p>Alternatively, select <b>Excessive Log On Failures</b> to return a message that too many logon attempts have been made. This is more suitable for environments that support only internal users to aid in troubleshooting log on errors. If you upgrade to this version of <span class="mc-variable Logi_Variables.SymProductName variable">Symphony</span> from an earlier release, this is the default setting until you change it.</p></td></tr><tr data-mc-conditions=""><td><p data-mc-conditions="Logi_Conditions.b-SymphonyOnly">[Free-Form Widget Placement on Dashboards](/logi-symphony/symphony/v25/release_notes/symphony_25.2_enhancements#freeform-widget-placement-on-dashboards)</p></td><td><p>You can now switch the layout of a Visual <span class="mc-variable Logi_Variables.SymDataDiscovery variable">Data Discovery</span> dashboard between Responsive and Free-Form Layout.</p><p>When you enable Free-Form Layout instead of Responsive layout, you can adjust your dashboard layout with finer-grained control.
